Where they meet
Giorgia brings the experience of teaching. Homero brings the authentic memory of the beginner. The ESCALA Method is born from the meeting of these two points of view.
About us · Dance Hub Torino
A school that brings together quality and fun, individual attention and a sense of belonging, technique and freedom.

Co-founder · Teaching direction
Giorgia has been teaching salsa and bachata for over ten years. In the studio she learned how much a group’s energy matters, and how a well-built class can change someone’s whole week.
She has worked at length with people starting from scratch, making technique, musicality and connection accessible, step by step: not figures learned by heart, but concrete tools to understand your body, the music and your partner.
Today she puts the experience gained over the years at the service of a precise vision: evolving the way Caribbean dance is taught, combining method and fun, innovation and respect for its origins, with genuine care for people and their journeys. Berrakera was born from that vision.

“Even though it runs in my blood, I learned the technique as an adult. What I know I built over time, learning to control the body, listen to the music and find confidence through study and training.”
That’s why he knows first-hand the doubts, the stiffness and the struggles of the first months. He knows how much clear explanations, steady practice and concrete progress matter.
Over the years he has kept studying and testing himself, training with international artists and exploring different approaches. A journey of curiosity and constant commitment that he now brings to the way he teaches.

Berrakera is a Colombian concept meaning grit, energy and determination. For us it is also something very simple: walking in perhaps tired or switched off, and walking out brighter, motivated and happy to be part of something.
You won’t be placed in a level based on how many sequences you know by heart or the years you’ve spent in the studio. We look at your starting point and guide you along the path that suits you best.
To evolve the way Caribbean dance is taught without losing the bond with its origins: combining method and fun to turn “I’m just not made for it” into concrete skills in the body, the music and the connection, inside a community that truly cares about people and their journeys.
To make method, connection and the freedom to interpret the new standard of the Caribbean dance school: not dancers who collect sequences, but aware, curious people able to adapt, and healthier, more open communities.
